Disorderly Order

Posted by Timothy on January 25, 2012 at 7:00 AM Comments comments (0)

It never seems to fail that when you plan to do something that things will go haywire and you will not get item A complete untill the new items 1, 2, and 3 are completed.   That's one of the things that we've ran into with adding an addition onto the house.

The original plan was to add on 1,000 sq/ft to move the wifes parents in, which would give them immediate access to help if they needed it and vice versa if the wife needed help wrangling 3 little ones.

Well to do this since the tree guys destroyed our field lines for the septic; and we couldn't install the detached garage because of the field lines, we must tie into the city sewer system.   Great, fine and dandy. But the line in front of the house is higher than the connection coming out of the house.  We've been waiting 2 weeks for the utilities company to come out and uncover the manhole that was paved over years ago on the side street so that we can figure out whether we need a pump system or not.

Same thing goes with the heating and AC.  We will need to upgrade the system and add a second unit for the downstairs, no problem right?  Wrong, because of the power draw we will need to upgrade the power connection to the house.

This has been the way of it for the last few months.  Make a good step forward and get kicked back at least ten. It has at least been a very good learning experience when dealing with permits and getting people to show up when you want them to.

Now on to the good shit..

Time Is my enemy

Posted by Timothy on January 20, 2012 at 6:10 AM Comments comments (0)

As most of you that follow on a regular basis know, time is my enemy.  But it makes life interesting when trying to juggle life, family, job, writing, side work, house work, etc.   And I know that I have said it before, if you are going to get anywhere on your artistic endeavors then you need to manage your time well.

So that being said, as part of my management for the weekend I am getting off my ass and putting out a blog post to catch things up a bit. :)    But before we get to the links, pics and videos, I want to plug the Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville, GA.  That place is Awesome!!  Once we walked in we were sold on the place.  Check them out if you are in the Chattanooga area, it's great for young and old alike.  :)

So here we go, on to the fun stuff.

Bah Humbug!

I honestly hate the holidays.  Christmas, which i continue to hear people complaining because Christ is dropped from it when it wasn't even a Christian holiday to start with. (ref. Yule)  But it has become nothing but a commercial debacle of who can buy bigger and better which is a bunch of horse shit!

In my honest opinion parents shouldn't bury their kids in cheap, slave labor made toys in an attempt to buy their affection.  Actually take some time and spend it with your kids during the year.  Buy them maybe one thing that they really really fucking want and that's it.

Now in the past week things have progressed in our addition, work has been crazy and I have the writing bug that is trying to bore a hole in my head.  But If all goes well I will get to put pen to paper during a 10 day Christmas/Yule/holiday/new year's break.  Since there have been so many other factors against me since the summer I stepped back from "Our Dark Past" and have been concentrating on my writing style and pumping out a shit ton of short stories.  My intention is to first produce a collection of short stories that have helped me to fine tune my style and i will get back to the novel at a later date when life isn't so hectic and crazy.  I can sit down and punch out 6 pages in the wee hours of the morning.  But to keep focused on a novel length story that is full of twists and turns it doesn't work out so well.

And yes, I know I am behind with posting last week's shows.  So here we go, 4 shows to enjoy this week.

CLONE ME!!!!!!

Posted by Timothy on December 13, 2011 at 1:00 PM Comments comments (0)

WTF?  I seriously need to have a few clones. This pastweek I pulled a 74 hour work week and still didn't finish everything thatneeded done.  RRGGGG  not good.

But the upside is that the holidays are less than two weeksaway and I'll have some much needed time off to spend with the family and getcaught up on my chores list.

If all goes well I will manage to get some writing in andget one step closer to completing my short story collection for everyone tocheck out.

I will also be making some changes on the site to makeeverything flow that much better.  And Iwill be adding a few more sponsors and a few Vendors to the site.  Also I will be doing my damndest to get thepodcasts up on I-tunes for those who listen through that software.  Lots to do and very little time to doit.  But it's still worth theeffort.  :)

Make sureto check out the shows this week.  FridayI will be playing my interview with Sonja Perenda, a Symphonic Metal singerfrom Vienna Austria.  And Saturday night we may have a return ofJosh from Zombie A.C.R.E.S.

Studio

So over the holiday weekend I managed to get all the equipment for the Studio and TDB Pirate radio began it's 24/7 broadcast on Livestream.  Right now it's just a random cycle of the music that has been sent in for the shows.  I will be gathering other podcasters that wish to join in the fun and add them to the rotation.

Other than that I nearly managed to go to jail during the Black Friday sale at Walmart.  Apparently the cops couldn't take a joke.  Here's what I yelled.

"Attention Walmart shoppers!  It is ten till midnight, prepare yourselves for battle!!!"

Yeah, they had 4 cops hunting for me and they even tried to bait me by playing Marco Polo.  :)

mwahahaa.

Style and Ideas

Posted by Timothy on November 19, 2011 at 12:30 AM Comments comments (0)

So in my quest to write the best damn story ever I continue to fight with myself on what my style should be.   I love the dark and hopeless feeling from anything Lovecraft, but the grammar of the day doesn't translate well into today's literature.

I will say that I do seem to work harder at this style than if I just run with what is in the back of my head.

I have also found that if I wake up and write before the rest of my day begins, it flows so much easier onto paper.  And that voice tainted with the thoughts of dreams in the early morning hours seems to be my true writing voice.

I still suggest to any other writer out there to join a writers group.  My abilities have grown ten fold since I joined the Chattanooga writers guild.  You will learn alot of grammar and style items to help you tweak your own style.

Now if i could just keep the evil nightmares that include the babies out of my head I might stay sane enough to complete my goal.

Rock and the Fiery Pumpkin!

So last Thursday myself, D3adly G33k, and our wives went out to the Honest Pint to check out some of the bands that we had played on our shows.

For anyone that hasn't been to the Honest Pint, you must be 21 to get in, the food is awesome, the atmosphere is great for the writer and the best place to hear the music is near the pinball machine.  :)

So we interviewed the bands that played last Thursday night, Uncle Touchy, Johnny Dropout, and Breaking Laces.  All three put on great shows, and gave great interviews.  We wanted to get a little more from Johnny Dropout but they were running a little late.

Uncle Touchy

Breaking Laces

So the weekend arrived and I really wanted to go do the zombie shoot.  It was doomed from the fucking start.  I had all of the old paint mixed together and added 3 bottles of red food coloring plus 2 packets of RITT cloth dye and it barely made the mix a dull flesh color.

My plan to paint blood splatter onto canvas was a bust with the paint.  I had already spent what I was going to and that was that.  So I resigned myself to just blowing shit up.   My two little Zombie Bait! co-hosts and minions, Standby Stephanie and Giggles, took the princess and Grammies Limo wagon around the neighborhood and collected up unwanted pumkins.  :)

We loaded at least a dozen Pumpkins/Jack-o-lanterns into the truck, along with around 40 jars/bottles loaded with paint, two dozen or so bottles full of water, and a dozen or so of old canning jars from Grammies basement in Ohio that had been there for years and had lost their seal.  :)   That means they are mine!!  mwahahahaha..

Ok so we get all of this loaded, load the guns, girls (Steph, Giggles, Princess), grab Billy and we're off for Shinbone ridge.  Yeah that didn't work so well.  There were so many fucking people there that there wasn't even room to park on the side of the road.   I wasn't about to take the princess out there to shoot for the first time with a bunch of people that had guns and I had no idea of how safe they would be.

So the plan was a bust.  We can back to the house with an upset princess and unloaded the truck.  But just so I could get in some destruction we stuffed the jack-o-lanterns with pine straw, filled them full of gasoline and watched them burn!!  :)  very cool when the flame raced across all of them and the fire shot out of the eyes.  :)    Then Steph and Giggles used a sledge hammer to finish off the other pumpkins.

Tremors and Trolls

So Here is some food for thought.  I've managed to land in the ER twice in a week's time with the same heart attack like pain in my chest.  And both times the same conclusion, my heart is strong and there is nothing wrong with it.

So far the docs have told me to De-stress and calm down.  I have a feeling that something else is actually wrong than just stress.  I know stress contributed to the original stomach spaz that I had, along with others.  But I really don't think that is the case this time.  I haven't had any real stress this week.  Only time and a few more trips to the doc will tell.

Now the good news, the trollette has had her baby as of last night.  And I have become a 35 year old grandfather.  How fucked up is that?   But ain't she a cute one.  :)  She's so tiny.  You forget that as they grow and learn to talk.  :)

But in the mean time I am still working on "Our Dark Past"  and putting together a short story compilation that I hope to have published before the end of the year.

Been Awhile

Posted by Timothy on October 25, 2011 at 7:25 AM Comments comments (0)

So It has been almost a year since I used the Blog section of this site.  I guess it's time to pull it back out and dust off the cobwebs.

Thanks to another trip the the ER that turned out to be esophogeal spasms, the doctors telling me to reduce my stress levels again and my need to continue this site, I will be using the Blog section more often.

Unless I managed to find some dedicated Minions out there to do the daily chores on the site, I will be limiting my posts to the Blog section, with the random tid bits of stories that I just happen to find out there.  Shotguns to the other 9 sites will still be done, but only on a weekly basis.  If all works well this should take care of some unneeded stress and allow me more time to write.   The shows will continue as they have been, so no worries there.  Continue to send us your music and we'll get you some airplay.  :)

Need lots of Coffee!!!

I have had a very productive night...morning...I'm not sure what to call it, but I did manage to get a nap in some time after 4 A.M..

The first draft of the prologue is complete, and setting in the inbox of an editor for review.  My gut instinct tells me that it will come back with bloody mark-up's, but that's just me being paranoid.

Chapter 1 is on it's way to a first draft completion.  If all goes well today we will make our way through a number of other chapters, and I will get to maim a few characters in the process.

More to come tonight...
